What we do

JATS4R (JATS for Reuse) is a working group devoted to optimising the reusability of scholarly content by developing best-practice recommendations for tagging content in JATS XML  (Find out more about what ‘reusability’ is and why it’s important.)

As of December 2018, JATS4R became a NISO Working Group.

We welcome your input!

Our aim is to make adoption of JATS4R tagging recommendations as easy and cost-effective as possible for everyone. To do this, we need input from many people in scholarly publishing. That input can be in the form of contributing samples, following and commenting on recommendations, joining a subgroup to develop recommendations in an area of interest to you, or simply following our work and helping to spread the word as we develop recommendations.
